Out of a high demand of parents wanting to put their preschool children in piano lessons, Grace Hanson, found herself in a position of teaching group lessons to preschoolers ages two to six. Many of these little ones did not have a strong foundation in how to count, nor were they secure in saying the alphabet forwards, never mind backwards. Traditionally these two systems of counting and the alphabet are needed in order to excel in piano. However, Grace Hanson was challenged to think outside of the box in order to teach these little ones rhythm, note recognition and keyboard awareness. They may not all have had a strong background in knowing their numbers or their letters but they certainly had a keen interest in animals at this age and so this is how the Fun Music Buddies system of learning music was created. Out of necessity and a deep desire to communicate how music works so a young learner could easily grasp musical concepts, Grace Hanson used animals. As a result, the Fun Music Buddies was born and to the mind of a young learner, music makes sense, it's made possible, and it's relatable making the lessons a boat load of pure fun and adventure. Here is hoping you will explore the music resources and videos on this site to get an idea of how it all comes together for success.
